"Early to rise, early to bed..." they say.
Well, this motto almost got thrown out the window this morning!
At 7:30 am, a surprise delivery for my son's new bed arrived, way ahead of schedule.
This threw my morning routine (wash, dress, eat, texting) into disarray, but in the best way possible.
The early delivery ensured I wouldn't be late for work, leaving me with some much-needed pre-class breathing room.
The delivery guys worked like lightning, and soon, a beautiful new bed was gracing my son's room.
And when the clock showed 8:30 am, I was back in my own classroom, playing educational games with the kids.
The rest of the day was a whirlwind of activity with the little ones.
Any attempt at outdoor chores like sweeping sand was met with enthusiastic destruction from a walker-wielding toddler, fascinated by the tracks his wheels left behind.
Playtime prevailed, but afterwards, I managed to gather the sand and store the bikes and tractors.
Speaking of the weather, June usually brings a sweat-inducing heat wave, but not this year!
The unexpected coolness (a brisk 12°C) actually made the outdoor tasks a welcome way to stay warm while the kids played.
The afternoon finally brought some sunshine, allowing me to enjoy a walk bathed in the warm glow that made the hydrangeas pop.
My mood soared – things couldn't get any better, right?
Well, the remote control had other ideas.
Lost in their play, my sons didn't realize it was nestled between them on the couch.
One misplaced knee later, and it was in two pieces.
What surprised me most was their immediate offer to pay for a replacement, without me even asking!
Perhaps all those lessons on responsibility are sinking in after all.
Wishing you all the best in life and much health.
