Hey Actifitters,
The weather continues to alternate between extreme heat and heavy thunder storms. Very early in Summer for that kind of weather but here we are. We tried to take advantage of the few cooler minutes after one of these storms to go for a walk with Kaia.
But it was obviously super humid and it didn't even feel any cooler. It's not really visible on the pictures, but we could see humid mist coming out of the ground.
The trails were of course partially flooded at many places.
And once again, it made Kaia very happy!
But I wasn't, especially because these puddles attract even more mosquitoes than there already was. So we followed the forest edge for a bit, it's drier with less bugs.
We also tried a different entrance to the forest. It was slightly better but I still had to fight a lot of these damn mosquitoes.
But Kaia found more puddles, at least one of us was enjoying the forest!
After at least twenty bites, I had enough of it and decided to continue our walk on the neighborhood streets. Like I'm sure I already mentioned, we can still see plenty of wildlife there too.
That rabbit had the brilliant idea to cross the road just in front of us. Luckily Kaia was too hot and tired to chase it.
As often, beautiful sunset colors lingered in the sky for quite a while.
Then behind the trees, I saw a glimpse of something. Could it be the Moon?
Even if we were already pretty close from home, I couldn't resist, I had to find a spot with better visibility. Kaia was huffing and puffing like a loud choo choo train, and I was sweating like crazy, but we added at least a mile to find this good view.
Still not perfect, but after a few.more minutes, finally!
It was fully dark by then, and the neighborhood was very quiet as usual.
With that heat/humidity combo, that walk was possibly a bit too long for Kaia, but she was fine. She did drink a few gallons of water before her dinner!
For me it was perfect, enough to stay above the bar again in the #poprzeczka competition. Still a clean sheet so far I think, in spite of my least liked season starting with a bang!
As always, thanks for stopping by and see you tomorrow.
