Hey Actifitters,
Yesterday was our first day of skiing/snowboarding. We chose to go first to the Highlands at Harbor Springs. Of course, it's not my beloved Alps, but it's one of the best in Michigan.
It snowed just the day and night before, just enough for a soft layer on top of the base. It was also very cold (that explains why my cell phone battery died so quickly, and my small step count). I'm fine with that, but my friends struggled a bit with cold finger and feet.
For a minute in the afternoon, the cloud cover opened up just enough to let us see the lake. With more snow and sun, this view is spectacular! But it's not bad like that either.
At the end of the ski day, we stopped in Boyne City for a little apres-ski drinking, with lots of local beers and ciders.
Like I said, it will never replace the Alps, far from it, but still a great day, with lots of fun and laughter. More of the same tomorrow!
As always, thanks for stopping by and see you tomorrow.
