Hey Actifitters,
The sunny weather from Friday afternoon continued yesterday. So much better when the sun is shining like that!
We first spent fun times playing with Kaia in the yard.
While Le Chat rediscovered her favorite place on the deck enjoying the sun. Yes, her face isn't showing it but she is enjoying!
As much as I just wanted to go on a hike, or at least to the forest, there was too much work to do in the yard. With the heavy wet snow we had, several big branches broke, and it needed to be taken care of. A friend helped me with his chainsaw and we cleaned up almost everything. I forgot to take a before picture, but these are some of the branches.
Pretty sure more branches will fall down soon. I tried to pull this one down, I even hung my entire body weight with momentum, but that wasn't sufficient. It will probably be next though.
For some of these branches, the heavy snow may not have been the only culprit, we found these holes in several of them.
For sure, somebody was happy with our work. I remember Genepi was doing the exact same thing.
But it took us longer than expected, pretty much until sundown, and eventually Kaia got bored, or tired. Probably the former, she's never tired!
Since we had already missed the sunset, we took a breather, drank a few espressos, and just relaxed for a while. But like I said, Kaia is never tired, and she clearly needed a walk to burn the energy built up from the yard activities. So once again, we started a long night walk to the forest. Because the night sky was so clear, it was also very dark.
I was surprised it was colder than expected, a few degrees below freezing. That is great, although I know it will not last. That caused some eerie mist on some of my photos.
We walked all the way to the playground to get Cubiverse vaults again.
After all these temperatures swings, the parking lot was turning into an ice rink. And it will be a muddy pit again soon.
We went back into the forest for a couple more miles.
And finally made our way back home after a few more additional miles in the neighborhood. The sky was still so clear.
Finally, with a little bit more playing in the yard with Kaia, I was surprised to see I had actually reached the bar. Great month in #poprzeczka so far, let's see if we can keep it going for a few more days.
