Dot matrix printers , if the inked ribbon is good, does last a long time especially on carbon copies.
I remembered the tedious meticulous calculation of alignment on the program just to make sure data is printed in the exact places.

At least you didn't discover skulls of burnt bodies around. Otherwise this fire would be a lot more tragedy, and probably you might know about it too in 1993.

They were dogged workhorses and went on forever, even in dingy places such as this.
