Talking a walk around less visited areas rediscovering new joints

in Actifit4 months ago

It has been a while since I went to really roam around the mall that I is close by to my workplace.

Every time when I needed to go there, it is just grabbing a sandwich.

Or do some groceries.

This time round, while helping mom to get the ingredients to make this "special golden" concoction, which I will share on my next post 😉 so do stay tuned! I have decided to check out any other eateries I can order for weekend family friends meetings.

In the sadness noticing my favourite Vietnamese restaurant, Thai restaurant has closed off from business after being there for almost 10 years, I came across these newly done landscape in hope of reviving the stagnant mall. I must say kudos for the landscapers who brought in live plants to the floors that are not directly open to the main entrance to encourage people to just visit for a nice Insta-worthy wefies and selfies, while resting and waiting, or perhaps having some quiet time relaxing.

The other joint that caught my eye, that was shared at the too, is this very classy cafe, "One Afternoon" that seems to be encouraging people to read again.

I am not certain how the rental rate is, but there are a lot of fictional story books there. Since there is a "panic room" games at the top floor where kids just love hanging out with friends, this could be a suitable place for parents to just chill and grab a book and some refreshments while they wait for kids playtime to end.

I used to hang out at restaurants with a book during the weekends for a brunch, but I haven't done that for a really long time. This place reminds me those better days when I am less hectic and more time to unwind.

Of course, another way to keep a mall alive in Malaysia, is to welcome brands to promote freebies! No one ever denies freebies! 🤣

I am grateful that the management is making efforts to revive the economy instead of let it die naturally in a slow death.

How about your area?

Do you have struggling premises? Or are they vibrant as ever? Tag / share your findings in the comments and I'll sure to stop by and check out your sharing. 😁

Until Then

Stay healthy, stay curious and learn new things, and stay happy!

I'd love to try that One Afternoon cafe too. It looks like a quiet place to hang out. LOL! I've never liked crowded places. I don't get to go out much anymore these days, but in the few occasions that I have, I've noticed a few merchant stores also closed down in the neighborhood mall. I suppose online shopping has taken off that most folks prefer that. Not too many folks going shopping or watching movies anymore. Sad truth. An advance happy weekend...

So true. I think post pandemic really affected a lot of people.
Thanks so much for stopping by!

"One Afternoon"; that's an interesting name! And, looks like it is good place for the parents. However, nowadays, does any parent read a book, rather than scrolling the phone screen!

Those plants, are those live plants? not artificial?
