Hello everyone, Two days ago I shared interesting information about the Amathusia phidippus caterpillar species, and as promised, today I want to continue the discussion by sharing photos of butterflies from the same species, Amathusia phidippus or also often referred to as the bird's eye butterfly. is one of the species that attracts the attention of observers and nature lovers, as you can see in the photo where this butterfly has a unique and elegant wing pattern, this pattern is not only something that is beautiful when seen by all of us but the pattern is also help them to years of living in the wild through a mechanism I often call "camouflage".
The appearance of the Amathusia phidippus butterfly is very striking and is the main attraction for everyone who loves the world of insects. When observing these adult butterflies and one of the most prominent features is the size of their large and wide wings, the basic color of their wings is brown with a very distinctive pattern on the forewings, while the pattern I referred to resembles a bird's eye at the beginning of writing, it consists of several dark circles of contrasting color around the edges of the wings.
While the back wings of Amathusia phidippus also have a simpler pattern but are still charming when looked at, the back wings of Amathusia phidippus are light brown with a slight touch of yellow, this combination of colors gives a natural impression similar to dry leaves (especially dry banana leaves) so they can blend in and even merge with the environment they are in, if you go hunting in the wild maybe you can see first hand the phenomenon I am discussing and you will automatically say "This is a miracle of the universe".
Another unique thing is that the movements of the Amathusia phidippus butterflies tend to be slow but graceful, their flying movements are not too far and fast and in fact this is similar to most other butterflies in the forest, it seems that this butterfly prefers to spend a lot of time in places where it can they hatch eggs or a place that is easy for them to find nectar, the beauty of their wings and appearance becomes more prominent when they are above the ground as you can see in all the photos.
