One of my favourite bands is NOFX, and I was lucky enough to see them back in 2008, but sadly during their final tour I didn't get tickets to see them, which I'm sad about. That's life though and these things happen.
Happy Guy - NOFX
I've always really liked this song of theirs, and it's on Punk In Drublic, which is one of my favourite albums of theirs.
It's a relatively short song, but I think it's brilliant. "He's just a man, trying to explain, how he found the word of god could make life seem less insane."
The Cause - NOFX
This is another great one from that album, and it's a song about - as far as I'm concerned - music, and bands in general who are doing what they do for the love of it, and doing it to get nothing in return.
I could be wrong, but that's the vibe I've always gotten from it. That's the good thing about songs, and music in general, you can take whatever you want from it and 10 people could have wildly different ideas of what a particular song is about.
Dinosaurs Will Die, is another song about the music industry, and that one is more clear cut and on point than this one, but I've always liked this one.
Philthy Phil Philanthropist - NOFX
The xeolophone is my favourite part of this song, especially when it's kind of cut by the "Blah's"
It's from another of my favourite albums of theirs, Heavy Petting Zoo.
They've released a staggering amount of albums, EPs, and Singles over the years. That's one of the many benefits of owning your own label and being able to work on music full time.
