God, I honestly can't believe it has nearly been two years to the day. In 9 days I'll have written and published something every single day without fail.
I had a few streaks before taking the plunge on January 1st 2023 - the longest of which was about 5 months - to think that I've done nearly 5x that amount now is crazy to me.
One thing too, I don't think I write - or have written - a bunch of crap. Most of it has been short stories, longer multi-part stories, a novel, and a few novellas as well as enough world building/ pondering posts that could essentially fill a world bible of sorts.
I've compiled the bulk of all of the fiction I've written, and added it to a document where I can essentially take the best ones with the intention of publishing it as an Anthology series.
A friend is currently near the end of one of the novels and has given me so many notes along the way which has really helped to re-evaluate it. Hearing someone else's thoughts on something, and discussing aspects of the story, characters and background has been great. Many ideas have come to mind during these conversations and he has pointed out so many things that I never considered.
When he finishes that pass, I'll be ready to edit it as a whole and it'll be very close to releasing once that happens.
It's hard to create posts, while juggling work, family, socializing and other hobbies and aspects of my life while also adding on the addition of working on editing previous stories, so that has been one aspect that I haven't really been able to manage.
Editing Previous Work
On one hand I'm thinking of just stopping the daily posting come January 1st 2025, but then again, should?
I mean, if I can manage to keep it up, why not? I told myself I'd stop after 1 year, but here we are. So why not just keep going, keep writing, keep improving and keep creating.
If I can set myself up with a schedule, 20-30 minutes a day editing previous work. That's doable I'm sure, and beneficial.
I have an idea I'm currently working on that involves my previous work, as well as promoting it in an exiting way that seems to be working for similar content. If I can get it off the ground and start it up early 2025 it would be a great way of getting my stuff out there, and to do it I'd be kind of editing it on the fly.
I'm not sure how everything is going to go, but what I do know is that next year will be far more productive than this year, and this year has been extremely productive.
