What's up Hive fam, I hope everyone is having a great day so far and that this year coming treats everyone well.
Christmas
Today was great, and one of the best aspects of the day has to be that I discovered what a croissant with bree, ham, and cranberry tastes like. It's amazing. All these years I only ever had butter on them, but screw that, from here on I think I'll be experimenting with some different toppings whenever I have one.
I received some kickass gifts from Aimee, and the rest of my family. Even Kaleb got me a new paid of DCs and they're sick. Aimee's parents got me a thermal label printer for my selling which is deadly, it burns the addresses onto the label - so no need for ink - and then that adheres to the package.
My dad got me some signed Star Wars movie posters, they're not actual signed ones, but they look class. I'm going to hang all 9 of them above my bed. My mum got me an arm mount for a camera for the large frame mount I bought a few months ago, and with it, I'll be able to get much better shots when doing my model making videos. My sister and her partner got me some new clothes which are all great. Aimee got me a new phone and it is such a vast improvement, I spent a few hours going through it and setting it up. My old one was about 3+ years old, so the upgrade was needed, mainly because of a battery issue I've been having for a while.
I was more excited to give Kaleb his stuff, and he hasn't even opened it all yet. We opened a few things this morning, stopped to have food and chill out, then opened a couple more before taking another break.
It was much better doing it like that, because he didn't get overloaded and was able to enjoy his gifts one at a time. It worked out good for all of us recently, because it kind of made the most of the day and allowed everyone to focus on a few things at a time.
We got down to Aimee's house at 3:45, had dinner and a few drinks - well, I'm the only one having a few drinks - but we threw on some Christmas music and have been hanging out watching Kaleb play with some of his new toys. We got him this big pirate ship for his main present and he loves it.
I managed to find Aimee a few PS1 games she mentioned having as a kid, so we're going to play them later. They were fairly hard to find in good nick. Hercules, and Pandemonium.
She was delighted with them, I also got her some air pods, and a controller for her switch, because she mentioned that it was a bit awkward to play with the controllers it has.
It has been a fun day so far, and really good just spending time together and hanging out. Next year it'll be mad, Kaleb will be nearly 3, his cousin will be his age now, and there'll be two more seats at the table, so needless to say, it is going to be an even fuller house than it already is.
