Learn to forgive and let go of the resentment to find peace and happiness

At different times in our lives, we may have felt hurt or had problems that made us angry at someone for doing something wrong. We have a hidden wound that opens up whenever we see that person because we haven't forgiven them. We hold on to our anger even though we don't think it's something we can't eliminate.

At some point in your life, have you felt angry? Have you let go?

Forgiving someone is a solid way to heal mental scars and find peace at the same time. We let ourselves heal by letting go of the anger and hatred that caused the wound. Joy and happiness will be hidden inside us if we don't hold on to our anger or resentment.

When we forgive, compassion lets us let go of the pain. If you haven't forgiven something from the past, it will help you let go of the pain you're carrying around in your heart and doesn't serve you. This will give you hope that your future will be different. Also, it's essential to be clear that forgiving someone doesn't mean we agree with what they did, even though many people think that's what it means. Forgiving doesn't mean we're releasing a burden, like anger or bitterness, that doesn't serve our hearts (in fact, anger can be destructive for our health, as we can forgive:

  • notice emotions: The first step in dealing with our feelings is to notice them within ourselves. When you do this, look for a lousy emotion; at that moment, you may feel pain, anger, rage, or even sadness. Feel it; if you need to weep, do so. Once you've completed that, continue to the next stage.

  • Understand the situation: Determine why the other person could damage you and why you did what you did. The goal is not to justify but to understand. For example, someone emotionally hurt since childhood may harm others. If you can see things from a different point of view that will help you know, not justify, then move on to the third step.

To accept and let go of something, take the time to take a deep breath and let go of that feeling or pain. You will feel calm, and this will help you forgive more and more over time.

  • Liberation: Forgiving someone will free you because you hold the grudge, not them. That's why it's important to forgive, set yourself free, and not hurt your health.

When you forgive someone, it doesn't happen quickly; it can take time. But when you do it every time, you'll feel better because the weight of your anger and pain will be lifted. Still, if you do that, you will see the results in your mind and emotions. Forgiveness is difficult, but we must do it to feel at peace. Because it takes guts to do that, it says that mercy is for bravery. We will feel our pain and anger again at those times, but we will also work on tightness, love, and kindness. This does not build a bridge of emotional security.

We must understand that this action is not for the benefit of the person who wasn't hurt. Still, it's for ourselves because we're not letting go of an emotional chain that connects us to the pain that someone caused us in the past, whether in our childhood or because we're angry at them. This lets us live in the present and the future without pain, anger, or hatred in our hearts.

Here are some good things that will happen if you do this brave and loving thing. We were still determining what rewards it would give us. We won't feel pain, anger, rage, or sadness when we see that person again because they didn't hurt us. Instead, we'll feel calm, a feeling of peace I didn't have every time I saw that person. That's why it's good to forget.

Learning to accept and let go of the anger that comes from pain is an act of love for yourself because that pain is in your heart. You love yourself because you want to be so happy and mentally healthy that nothing or no one can get in the way of your happiness. You want to feel joy, peace, and mental calm all the time without remembering the bad times you've had.
