- Application of Fertilizer: Timely and proper application of fertilizer is essential for better production of maize. When the height of the crop reaches one to one and a half feet, the first batch of nitrogenous fertilizer should be applied at the rate of one bag of urea per acre and when the height of the crop is two and a half to three feet, the second batch of nitrogenous fertilizer should be applied at the rate of one bag of urea per acre. Before flowering, the last installment of nitrogenous fertilizer should be applied at the rate of one and a half bags of urea per acre.
Usage of Gudi: Timely Gudi is also necessary for the destruction of corn weeds so that it does not get damaged in strong wind or storm.
Use of herbicides: Herbicides should be sprayed in consultation with agronomists to control weeds.
