Now, I also believe that hope and fear are the same, since having hope keeps us alive, and being afraid of certain things makes us more careful, therefore keeping us alive

        The survival instinct is so strong that we come to suffering in advance. In adequate doses, a certain degree of fear is fine because if not we would go around the world ignoring the danger. Hope is also necessary as an element that moves us towards change. As on so many occasions, it is the degree or intensity that makes them something beneficial or harmful.
