Hello dear monochromatic #Hive friendse!... 2023 is ending today and I wanted to close it by sharing with you what I like to do the most: "Black and White Street Photography" and -as it has to be when it comes to this kind of photos- it will be my entry for today's #monomad challenge...

¡Hola queridos amigos monocromáticos de #Hive!... El 2023 se termina hoy y he querido cerrarlo compartiendo con ustedes lo que más me gusta hacer: "Fotografía callejera en Blanco y Negro" y -como tiene que ser cuando se trata de este tipo de fotos- será mi entrada para el reto #monomad de hoy...

2023 was a good year, my streets were full of photos and I had plenty of time to wander around and capture what's going on there. It was also a year with a lot of time on #Hive and this special web 3.0 space became my favourite way to share my creative work. So I have no complaints, because despite everything going on around me, I've done what I love to do and enjoyed it. There have been good things and "not so good" things in my life. However, I have been able to remain relatively even-tempered with the pleasant events as well as the unpleasant ones. I believe that after many years of practising that equanimity, I have been able to develop it and appease it in a significant way. But, apart from all that I'm writing here, I'm still the same "bipolar and absolutely unpredictable" guy I've always been, so it's possible that tomorrow (or maybe in a few hours) I'll be thinking differently and writing something absolutely opposite. That's perhaps the "funniest" thing about being forced to "live with myself".

El 2023 fue un año bueno, mis calles estuvieron repletas de fotos y tuve mucho tiempo para poder deambular por ellas y captar lo que allí sucede. También fue un año con mucho tiempo en #Hive y este espacio especial de la web 3.0 se consolidó como mi manera favorita de compartir mi trabajo creativo. Así que no tengo quejas, pues a pesar de todo lo que acontece a mi alrededor, he hecho lo que me gusta hacer y lo he disfrutado. Ha sucedido cosas buenas y cosas "no tan buenas" en mi vida. Sin embargo, he podido permanecer relativamente ecuánime tanto para con los sucesos agradables como con los desagradables. Creo que después de muchos años practicando esa ecuanimidad, he podido desarrollara y aplacarla de manera significativa. Pero, aparte de todo esto que estoy escribiendo aquí, sigo siendo el mismo tipo "bipolar y absolutamente impredecible de siempre" así que es posible que mañana (o quizás en pocas horas) esté pensando de manera diferentes y escribiendo algo absolutamente contrapuesto. Eso quizás es lo "más divertido" de estar obligado a "vivir conmigo mismo".

I would also like to take this opportunity to wish you all an excellent and positive year 2024. I want the time ahead to be a time of growth for you, I want you to do the things you love to do and feel good about doing them. I know #Hive is a very broad place with wonderful growth potential.... I am here simply: "The crazy guy with the camera in his hand, sharing his photos and writing crazy stuff", but I see everyday many of you here doing great things, fostering the growth of the platform, evolving, proposing changes, creating solutions, exploring and taking advantage of everything in #Hive and so I want to congratulate you and thank you for all that you do here... A big round of applause to all of you, I love you all!

Quiero aprovechar también para desear a todos un año 2024 excelente y repleto de cosas positivas. Quiero que el tiempo por venir sea para ustedes de crecimiento, quiero que hagan las cosas que les gusta hacer y que se sientan bien haciéndolo. Sé que #Hive es un lugar muy amplio y con un potencial de crecimiento maravilloso... Yo soy aquí simplemente: "El tipo loco con la cámara en la mano, compartiendo sus fotos y escribiendo cosas locas", pero veo a diario a muchos de ustedes aquí haciendo grandes cosas, fomentando el crecimiento de la plataforma, evolucionando, proponiendo cambios, creando soluciones, explorando y aprovechando todo en #Hive y entonces quiero felicitarlos y agradecer todo aquello que hacen aquí... ¡Un gran aplauso para todos, les quiero un montón!.

And to honour my well-known ability to change topics of conversation in an illogical and inopportune way, I will tell you that these photos which I am sharing with you today are loaded with a good dose of drama and served me to experiment with a slightly more heterogeneous style of publication in terms of cropping and editing. In fact, the cropping on all the photos is (as you can see) horizontal and the ratio is 3.5 x 4.5 (somewhere in between the 1 x 1 and the traditional 4 x 6). I also went "one step beyond" the purist black and white and added attenuated layers of 1% yellow in the images. This resulted in a more vintage black and white tone in my opinion.

Y para hacer honor a mi conocida capacidad para cambiar de temas de conversación de manera ilógica e intempestiva, le comentaré que estas fotos las cuales comparto con ustedes hoy van cargadas de una buena dosis de drama y me sirvieron para experimentar con un estilo de publicación un poco más heterogéneo en lo relativo a recorte y edición. De hecho, el recorte en todas las fotos es (como pueden ver) en horizontal y la proporción es 3.5 x 4.5 (un punto intermedio entre el 1 x 1 y el tradicional 4 x 6). También fui "un paso más allá" del blanco y negro purista y agregué capas atenuadas de 1% de amarillo en las imágenes. Esto dio como resultado un tono blanco y negro más vintage según mi parecer.

They were then exported to JGP format on which minor modifications such as straightening and adding watermarks were carried out using PhotoScape 3.6.3.}
