Today I will take you to an old station area that was operational during the British period. But now this station is abandoned. The massive railway station that is still in use today was built a short distance away. It was known as Parbatipur Railway Station.
As a resident of Parbatipur I love to know the old history of this town. And since ourtown has British-era railroads, these histories are more exciting to me. Because railway structures are not destroyed easily and our city has several abandoned railway structures.
The old railway station is just a few minutes away from the new railway station. The area of the old railway station is so large that it is possible to build a railway workshop or a beautiful railway station here.
The road leading to the old railway station has several abandoned machinery. But there is no reason for them to be stolen. Because they weigh a lot. When I was walking along the road and saw abandoned iron objects like boxes, I was very curious. But the young railway employees who were with me also had no idea about them.
I explored many abandoned wheels around the old railway station. Perhaps these abandoned wheels will be set on a wagon. Most of the railway carriages are made of iron or steel, so they are still usable even after being abandoned for a long time.
However, there is still some evidence of activity in this abandoned railway area. Because there are still some machinery like cranes or hoists, which are probably used to move the abandoned heavy parts now.
But this area looks like an old battlefield. There is a history of battlefield destruction, and there is also a history of dilapidated railway infrastructure.
I love walking around the old railway station area. Exploring the ancient structures here is truly a great experience. So make sure to travel to our twon at least once and visit these historical railway structures at least once.
