Loving greetings to all my Hive friends, especially coffee lovers. I'm here to share with you on this week's STB. As I have said on other occasions my coffee consumption despite being passionate, I have always taken it in moderation, like almost all things in my life. The only time I felt that coffee went bad for me was after my gall bladder surgery, but I really attribute that to the health condition I had at the time and not the coffee in question.
Nowadays my partner drinks a lot of coffee and I enjoy joining her in sharing a cup or two. I am practically her facilitator, whenever I can prepare or buy it for her I do so because I know she loves it. So coffee has always been present in our relationship and our living together. However he has never had any overdose symptoms or any reaction from drinking so much coffee.
Although I have not had my own experience with a coffee overdose, I did know of a case with some fellow students in my college days. I was in my fifth semester and the study groups were already well marked. Generally I studied with the good conduct group, we had meetings to study and an organic agenda that made us be prepared at the time of the exams. But I had other friends: Romer, Mary and Made; who were not so organized to study, so they ended up staying up the night before the exam.
On one of those intense nights of studying to inhibit sleep, they came up with the idea of combining coffee with Coca-Cola. At first it had positive results and they were able to continue studying quietly until almost dawn. They slept for a couple of hours and went to the exam, as they were so married Romer kept drinking coffee with Coca-Cola, even until minutes before the exam started. While we were in the exam Romer started to feel bad, he was able to finish but when we left the room the effects were noticeable.
He was sweating profusely, his heart was racing and his gaze was lost like a zombie. A half hour later he had to be taken to the emergency hospital. A few days later I found out that he had indeed overdosed on caffeine, it takes him several days to detox his body and he clearly learned a big lesson after that unpleasant experience.
I also learned a little more about how nothing in excess is good and that is why when I drink coffee I really do it to enjoy it. Even if it is a small cup I take the time to enjoy every sip and make sure my body enjoys it and assimilates it well. Overall, drinking coffee is something I do for pleasure, so why turn it into a self-harm.
Well my dear friends, I hope you enjoyed this story and that like me it has left you with an important lesson. Enjoy your coffee and love your body. I say goodbye for now leaving you a big hug. See you soon.
