The world is evolving very fast such that these days people talk of the less relevance of the human resources in several fields of live. The impact of AI in the recent time is alarming and there is fear of humans losing their usefulness and possibly lead to a lot of harm like loss of jobs and all of that.
Well, talking about Aritficial intelligence popularly called AI, it's now very common and doing a lot of wonders although not many people know its usefulness. Personally I was also ignorant to some extent and thought it was something in the blues. However, AI is actually very close to us. We use it everyday but do not know we do. With the use of google We are users of AI, lolz.
I attended this lecture hosted by my university on the impact of AI and it opened my eyes to the reality. The fact remains that it is a wide course which cannot be learnt at once but a general overview would help one to navigate well around it.
So to start with, what is AI? It is fully called Artificial intelligence. As the name implies, this is a concept which refer to machines that perform some intellectual activities meant originally to be done by the human brain.
AI can solve many problems for the human person, for instance, language translation. Its function in translating languages is wonderful. I rember recently going to a Chinese shop to buy a heater and I didn't know how to say it in Chinese as the seller couldn't understand English. He just opened a language translator and I spoke and it translated to him and I got what I needed.
It does other things like voice recognition, sourcing data for a thesis, even visual perception. However, for the aspect of providing data for school thesis, one has to be careful to avoid academic theft. There are other tools that could be used to detect a text gotten from AI. Thus,it is adviceable to use AI as only a reference and not as your thinker.
It was actually an enlightening lecture, as we got to know how much AI can do for us and how we can use it to enhance our work and do better. The good thing about AI is its ability to give a very orderly written text which can serve as a paradigm for an excellent work.
There are different classifications of the AI such as the Super AI, Genral AI and the Narrow AI. Under these classifications, there are other subdivisions. The popularly known ChatGpt is an AI tool which is widely used by students and researchers and perhaps because of its free usage. The truth is that many of the AI tools require one to pay to use them. But then, their help is worth the payments.
A lot was actually said that I can't recall and also because of the language barrier. My Italian lesson is still ongoing and so I am still struggling with grasping some terms which are not familiar. However, with the few u got, I was glad to have attended that lecture.
If you are a student who is f8nding it difficult on how to structure your final year thesis or do some certain tasks, you can easily ask AI for help and you will have it. But use it discreetly.
