I love driving roads like that too. And the traffic wasn't that bad either. It might be due to the fact that you pay a toll fee to go over Chapman's Peak. We paid something like R60.00 (about $3.25). That means you find only people who go for a casual drive to enjoy the views and tourists on this route. So it's a very relaxing drive.

The locals (or normal traffic) tend to take the alternative route which is not following the coast line and needless to say, doesn't offer these beautiful views.

Yes, I found the tunnel very interesting too!

thats a reasonable fee to take that road, and good that it helps to make it not so busy so one can really appreciate the views
