We rose early and drove to the orchard to pick cherries... but when we got there the cherry harvest was past and we changed the plan to picking raspberries.
At $5/pint we made sure to fill the pint cartons to overflowing. The unwritten rule is that if you're purchasing over $20 worth of fruit, the berries are free to eat while you are there, but not free to haul away in cartons. We left with 6 pints of raspberries, enough for several jars of raspberry jam!
It's a great experience being in the fields collecting from rows and rows of berries. The children especially enjoyed the experience!
