the US is the land where the Democracy is practised the most
I know, right? We democratically elect our senators, representatives and our president, but we are not an actual Democracy because all power is delegated to our electors and power is divided into three factions: House, Senate and Executive branches.
The more this original system of power division is broken, the more opportunities there are for corporations, NGO's, activist groups and even other nations to establish power in government and essentially become our "rulers". Ironically, this is done under the name of "democracy" which by it's very definition means "rule of the people". This is why politicians actually say "OUR DEMOCRACY", which references their empire of control.
The purpose of dividing power is to forbid direct "rule of the people" because that form of government has never survived more than a few decades before becoming a dictatorship or monarchy. Thankfully our system gives the people a very influential say in the rulership and direction of the country.
Each state holds a "popular vote" election for president on the first Tuesday of November, each state having a certain number of electoral collage votes based on state population. Then the president is ELECTED on January 6th, when the electorates gather and cast their vote for president, then the vice-president (Kamala Harris) certifies the election, then the president is inaugurated January 20th.
