No, i am not begging/looking for juicy upvotes.
Well, everyone talks about people doing shit posts and receiving lots of upvotes, irrespective of post.
The definition of shit posts is very vague. As opinions and perceptions differ from person to person.
A post with 1000 words, may be as shitter than a post of 100 words.
One thing i do agree, copying or replicating other's work is shit post and should be downvoted.
There are many posts, which may be short but have some message or learning in it, but get ignored or downvoted as it doesn't fit someone's meaning of good post.
I do confess, not all my posts are good and deserve big upvotes. I do try to add some value / context to the posts i write, except for actifit posts as the routines i follow to do my steps are mostly the same.
So, i ask what constitutes a good/bad post?
A post of 1000 words with selfies.
A post of some news that made headline
A post that has travel images
A post with technical information.
A post where a memory is shared.
A post on technology
A post on celebrations
A post on child care
A post on hive related developments
A post on personal development projects
A post on pet selfies
Hive is a place with diversed readers and writers, i think everyone deserves some appreciation.
I have also seen upvotes don't co-incide with the content of the post. A good circle will get you good votes. By that statement, i don't mean to offend anyone.
There are many hivers who's sole purpose is to look for good content and upvote, irrespective of circle or influence.
Then, there is an issue of farming or creating a bunch of accounts and use that to upvote or curate posts.
There have been instances where upvotes from curators also get influenced by the relationship you have. Again, my statement is not to offend any curators or community.
So, please don't hold a grudge on me or my posts. I come in peace.
Well with that, i will stop ranting now..
But, before i go, i would urge everyone not to prejudge the content creator and his/her posts. Not all his/her posts will be interesting and well written.
