Alive&Thriving Chooseday Thoughts : Do you collect coins?
I remember when I was a little girl. My dad had a coin collection. Sadly, all I know is that he sold them over time when he needed the money. Well, I've seen coin collectors here on Hive (esp. gold and silver). I honestly don't trust the mailing system here so I haven't thought of starting my own collection.
My daughter said this is a famous chocolatier in Barcelona. The chocolates are supposedly yummy. I hope she'll buy me some when she's able to come home and visit. π€£ Anyway, she sent this with ref magnets and all. Apparently, she also sent me some souvenir coins that she mixed with some of the ref magnets and cards so they would not be lost in transit. Thankfully, it seems I received them all. I will be storing the coins in this nice tin can of chocolates. π
This silver looking coin is my favorite as it has its own plastic case. I'm amazed that my daughter thought of buying me some souvenir coins. They are not common to local tourist places here.
Santa Maria del Mar - Barcelona. Must have been a fascinating historical site to visit. It's a good thing my daughter enjoys important landmarks and museums.
These three coins were made by Monnaie de Paris. I looked them up and found they do sell souvenir coins online. I guess there are coin collectors everywhere. Let's have a look at the front of these coins.
This coin comes with a ref magnet from Tibidabo. Apparently, my daughter got the chance to join educational trips during her first few months of arriving in Barcelona. I would have loved to share these adventures with her. She's my fave travel buddy. π€£
Sagrada Familia. I'd say the most well-known landmark in Barcelona would be this church. My daughter had sent me a postcard when she first visited this site.
Casa Batllo, a Gaudi masterpiece. I believe this one also comes with a ref magnet. I have yet to arrange those. π I believe that my daughter had made it a point to visit all of Gaudi's work, even the ones that are not too well-known.
This one's a copper coin that she bought when she visited an aquarium. She did share a lot of stories and more photos on social media. She also has fascinating reels on IG.
I believe she bought this when she got to the Van Gogh exhibit. It's the starry night imprinted on the copper coin. Amazing! π
July is moving forward. Pretty soon we'll be saying good-bye to it. Might as well enjoy each and every day. π Yes, I try to enjoy even the mundane chores that I need to carry out each day. Thank you to mother nature though for raining quite hard tonight that saved me some energy from watering the plants for the night. π
