Hello the mothers,
there is a great joy in #motherhood, the reason why those who want to bear children but don't have struggle to hear a cry. Children are special gift, parents who have them should treat them as such because those who don't have doing everything within their power to make sure they get even if it's just one. These children are placed under their care.
(The precious gift that makes married couple to be parents)
How do parents especially mothers take care of their children? They start right from their prenatal stage taking every necessary supplements to help the child be mentally and physically healthy from the womb. Some mothers know that prepregnancy, pregnancy, labor, and birth of mother and child important(prenatal and postpartum) while others ignore the what should be done.
Taking care of the child doesn't necessarily end in bringing the baby forth. As a mother you're expected to immunize the child regularly(RI, routine immunization). RI is necessary as lack of it has caused health challenges to the children, especially a particular disease known as polio that causes paralysis to the limbs making it impossible to work for the child.
History of Polio
In the early 20th century, polio was one of the most feared diseases in industrialized countries, paralysing hundreds of thousands of children every year. Soon after the introduction of effective vaccines in the 1950s and 1960s however, polio was brought under control and practically eliminated as a public health problem in these countries.
Rotary International launched a global effort to immunize the world’s children against polio in 1985 followed by the establishment of the Global Polio Eradication Initiative (GPEI) in 1988. When the GPEI started, polio paralysed more than 1000 children worldwide every day. Since then, more than 2.5 billion children have been immunized against polio thanks to the cooperation of more than 200 countries and 20 million volunteers.

Since those who organized for this polio immunization cannot get to every part of the world, they had to ask for volunteers to help out who at then of the work get a little stipend. And i have been a volunteer since 2015 helping the organizers monitor those who have volunteered to immunize our children and make sure that the vaccines are not wasted as it costs a fortune.
(Ongoing training for the work)
On this day we were trained on how to monitors this teams that we will be going inside the field and how to give a feedback back to our hierarchy for easy decision making and quality analysis.
The teams are really to go from house to house, schools, churches, playgrounds and other places to make sure that no child is missed. But it saddens my heart to know that some family heads, churches and schools gave instructions never to immunize their. We recorded an outrageous number of non-compliance. Back to 1900s when some parents with shallow mind said it was those in the village that caused their predicament, especially when it has to do with their children illness. Thanks to 21st century technology that has opened most people's eyes to know that lack of vaccination especially against polio can paralyze a child.
Some records of non-compliance that were recorded.
Some of the team at work really put in their best to make sure that the houses, schools and churches that accepted this vaccine were not missed.
As volunteers who have accepted to do this work, we tried our best to carry out this work thoroughly for the betterment of our children be some partners tried to abort efforts. We come back on daily basis after work to bring our reports to those that will use to find a better solution on what to do for those who has refused to immunize their therefore being a threat to other children.
We are happy we carried out this job diligently.
Please parents, protect your children and others, vaccinate them, do not make them be a threat. We owe them healthy living, emotional stability and physically sound as Parents. We will appreciate it the more if you make our job easy, even though nothing is easy.
