Hi community!
Barcelona's mini-crisis is over with a thrashing in Palma that has seen them regain their form. Lamine returned to the starting line-up and was decisive in a great second half.
Lamine Yamal returned to the starting line-up and Barça's crisis after three games without a win was over. The Barça number 19 appeared sparingly but was fundamental in Flick's team's victory, causing the penalty that made it 1-2, giving a luxury assist to Raphinha in the 1-3 and also participating in De Jong's 1-4 and Pau Víctor's 1-5. Little else can be said. Barça's dependence on this 17-year-old is tremendous. Barça's thrashing seems exaggerated, but Flick's team left a clear message: they are back.
Barça visited Mallorca after a three-match winless streak that prevented them from maintaining the advantage they had over their pursuers in La Liga. A bad run that also raised some doubts in one team. Flick decided to give Lewandowski, his goal-scoring man, a rest at the start, but Lamine Yamal returned to the starting line-up, which meant a sure victory for this season. Arrasate's team, who had two consecutive victories, are having a great start to the season and came out without any complexes against Barça.
The Balearic team had the first chances, but were unable to overcome the advanced Barça defence and were caught offside. The match seemed to be under control by Mallorca, who were not getting any further but were not in any trouble, until a stroke of luck tipped the game in Flick's favour and ruined Arrasate's initial plans. Dani Olmo lost the ball in attack and it was left between Mojica, Valjent, Raíllo and Leo Franco who got into a mess when trying to clear it. In the end Mojica cleared it over Valjent and the ball reached Ferran who scored the 0-1. A stroke of luck that calmed the Blaugranas.
The goal was followed by a few good minutes for Flick's men in which they could have sealed the win with attacks from Lamine Yamal and Ferran, who were not accurate. Mallorca, with Muriqi as the only reference up front, tried but the offside continued to end almost all of their attempts. They had six chances before the seventh time came when Darder passed Maffeo at first glance and he ran out and assisted Muriqi to score easily. The equaliser came on the stroke of half-time, but before the break Barça had another chance to take the lead when Raíllo misjudged a high ball that left Raphinha one-on-one with Leo Román, which the home keeper saved well.
In the second half, Barça came out strong and Ferran Torres had a good chance to make it 1-2 but shot just wide. A dangerous free kick on the edge of the area by Raphinha led to a brilliant performance by Leo Román just before Lamine Yamal was awarded a penalty by Mojica. Raphinha's shot was unchallengeable and the scoreboard made it 1-2. The home side's offsides had already exceeded ten with Barça more focused in this period. In the last quarter of an hour, Lamine Yamal's magic appeared to seal the match. First he invented a sensational pass for captain Raphinha to make it 1-3. This goal ended Mallorca's strength and in the last few minutes came the 1-4 and 1-5 from De Jong and Pau Víctor in which the Barça number 19 also played a leading role. The mini-crisis is over, Barça is back.
