So, today is 20.02.2024, and for #februaryinleo, today is the #noveltytuesday. What can be the newest than the new airdrop of Starknet blockchain? Some are happy with it, and some are a bit disappointed. Let's see how this goes, as I will share with you my journey there.
As I opened my Braavos wallet today, I saw a little message saying that I am eligible for 850 STRK tokens and can claim it now. My first instinct was to check the price on Coingecko, and I was surprised to see it at STRK $3.06, going down 30.5% in the last 24 hours, and probably will go a bit more as people are selling what they received. Still, at today's value, 850 STRK are worth $2600, so, not bad for a 6 months effort of allocating 10 minutes every few days to do some transactions on Starknet.
As I clicked on the notification, the website https://provisions.starknet.io/ opened. There is a long list of conditions for airdrop eligibility:
- You used Starknet more than five times in total during three separate months or more, transacted with a cumulative amount of at least $100 before November 15th, 2023, and had 0.005 ETH or more in your account on that date.
- You are an approved participant of the Early Community Member Program (ECMP).
- You made at least three commits to a repository that appears in the Electric Capital report for Starknet before November 15th, 2023. At least one of these commits occurred during 2018 or later.
- You used a StarkEx-based app at least eight times before June 1st, 2022. Now, these are the ones I did not get as I started my quest after June 1st, 2022.
I did qualify for some of them: - Ethereum developers: You made at least three commits to a repository that appears in the Electric Capital report for Ethereum before November 15th, 2023. At least one of these commits occurred during 2018 or later. - EIP authors: You appear on GitHub as an author or co-author of an EIP that was published before November 15th, 2023.- Ethereum stakers: You staked ETH up until the Merge - September 15th, 2022. Note that if you staked via a staking pool or centralized exchange you can't claim ETH directly through the portal. Your provider should claim the allocated STRK and distribute it to you.- Ethereum Protocol Guild: You were listed as a member of the Ethereum Protocol Guild on November 15th, 2023.- GitHub developers: You made at least three commits to a repository that is one of the top 5,000 repositories worldwide, ranked by number of stars, before November 15th, 2023. At least one of these commits occurred during 2018 or later. These were the ones I got done, so, let's see what is next! So, here you need to connect with your Braavos or Argent wallet and go to a few more steps, including the optional participation in the Starknet governance, I decided to use 100 STRK for some votes, delegating it to some external accounts for now. Later, I may use it to vote manually, just in case there is a second airdrop, sometime in the future. You never know, this is how Optimism did it, anyway. In there, I sold all my OP, and I only got $3 in the second airdrop. We do not need to repeat our mistakes. Once everything is done, you will see this screen:
If you notice, down left, you have a counter with how long it is until you may receive the STRK in your wallet.
Quite a long list. Hope it helps and that you are lucky.
