When ever I feel low or not feelnlike going anything I use to listen to the music. It's not just feel good to ear it more then that, it is a therapy which change our mood and fill us with positive energy. Their are many example in past where the music play a very important role, you check the books and you will find many stories of same. During the celebration it's part of our journey, during the sadness it help us to remover, even during the war time the patriotic songs were motivation for the soldiers. I love to share one such incident when our country was on war and one very famous singer of that time Lata Mangeshkar ji sing a patriotic song - ** Ae Mere Watan Ke Logon ** and people listening to the same become so emotional that they donate what they have with them. The gold collection was so much that the government asked the peoples to stop the donation. This is the power of the music and of course not only music the lyric also. The song without good lyrics is like body without the soul and when the both composed other then we witnessed the ultimate song or melody. The good lyrics always penetrate in our heart thought our ears and left with a imprint in our thoughts. Good lyrics has some meanings they are not just random words, they have a message in them for their listeners. Their are many songs which has good message in them but we also have a tons of songs which are full of nonsense and abusive words. The songs has the ability to create positive as well as the negative effect on the audience. This is the way which take out emotions out and make us feel lighter. If you have been any concern or witnessed the live performances of your favorite singer then you can feel what I am trying to say.
If I compare the songs of current age with the old age then immediately I can point out one big difference - the old songs were have less beat and more meaningful lyrics but in present their is more beats and less meaningful lyrics. I am not says al the songs in today's era has the meaningless lyrics but their are good number which belongs to this category. The songs are not just random beats they will not be able to stay long in market without good lyrics.
I belongs to the northern side of the country and the Punjabi is our local language. I am proud that Punjabi music is very famous in our country and many singer created a very good name and fame because of the Punjabi music industry. When I was in the collage I love the songs from some of singers like Jazzy B, Mohammad Saddik, Kuldeep Manak. The Jazzy B very famous for its western touch in music and the other two were mainly famous for the local cultural songs. The songs by them has story in it, the whole song tell the incidents happened in past and belongs to some historical or mythological even. After the intern and final exam the very first thing In love to do was listening to those singers and really I feel so much of light and free.
Now days the most of the songs looks like promoting the gun culture and the liquor and drug in their songs. Showing the liquor and use of drug in videos is very common along with the artist holding guns in their hands. In this way they are macho man but it really create a negative effect of audience specially the child's. Promoting the liquor and guns by their songs is not at all good. They may get fame and money but they are spoiling the culture. Up to some extend the audience is also responsible for the current situation of the music industry as they are serving, what the audience is liking. Hope the condition will be better in coming days.
