When I was in Bekasi, I really wanted to go home to see my wife and children. The feeling of longing mixed with tiredness made my body easily sick, without thinking twice, I went home with some money for transportation and finally arrived in my hometown. When I write these words, I have been with them for ten days.
Every morning my wife always serves me warm sweet tea with a large glass and snacks to fill my stomach. Like a small child I am left free to do whatever I want. I love my wife very much, I want to be happy together and feel tired together.
My wife's activities every morning are always busy in the kitchen such as washing clothes and boiling drinking water. As a form of my love for her, I took two of her jobs.
My first job was washing dirty clothes chosen by my household members. Like my mother's, my wife's, my child's, my sister's and mine.
Because we didn't have much money we never used a laundry service. I washed clothes until the last stage, which was to dry the clothes on a plastic mine that I made myself.
I have finished one job, but it turns out that my wife still has a job that takes a long time. My family never buys instant drinking water. My wife gave me the task of taking clean water from a neighbor's well, which is quite far away, but my neighbor's water tastes cold and clean. We have been using it for a long time, even before I married my wife.
The water I took was clean but it was not healthy if we drank it directly, I continued by cooking it. From the past until now, my family does not believe in Reverse Osmosis drinking water which has gone through many filtration processes to remove water contamination with germs or bacteria. But is it true that germs or bacteria die with just that process?
My family does not believe in the rapid and pampering technological advances. My family believes that healthy water will be safer to consume if the water is boiled first.
Ten days of helping my wife's work made me understand that women's work is also tiring.
One promise that I will never do, I will never underestimate you.
