RE: Mono Monday a Nautical theme

I love pictures like the one of the Barge Inn that have a bit of mystery attached. And what a great name.

I once had a painting that contained a chair in front of and angeled towards an open double door leading onto a balcony. The chair had a pair on clothes and a book on it. I spent hours looking at it and wondering what the story was.

Was the preson called away having to leave suddenly, were they just out of shot on the balcony?

I couldn't resist trying to find out something about the Barge Inn so I googled it but I just got UK results so I tried chatgbt and got this.

The Barge Inn was a converted barge that had been transformed into a restaurant, complete with indoor and outdoor seating areas. It offered stunning views of the marina and Plymouth Harbor.

Unfortunately, the Barge Inn closed its doors permanently in 2016. Its closure was due to a combination of factors, including rising maintenance costs and changes in ownership.

And although chatgbt informs me it did indeed have 2 floors it is counting the outside deck as one of them so there was, in fact, only one inside.

So there you go. Mystery solved. 😁
