Saludos hivers. Los que leen mis publicaciones saben que me encanta fotografiar insectos y demás organismos pequeños, hoy traigo unas fotos que le hice a una babosa, la segunda que consigo este año, la primera la encontré en mayo Aquí puedes leer ese post más informativo, y la que les muestro hoy, en junio, ambos encuentros fueron gracias al inicio de la temporada de lluvias en Venezuela, la época favorita de estos moluscos.

Those who read my posts know that I love photographing insects and other small organisms, today I bring some photos that I took of a slug, the second one I have this year, the first one I found in May Here you can read that more informative post, and the one I show you today, in June, both meetings were thanks at the beginning of the rainy season in Venezuela, the favorite time of these mollusks.
Por lo general, las babosas no son muy bien recibidas por la gente y mucho menos por aquellos que tienen jardines y cultivos de diversos tipos, ya que en grandes cantidades, pueden ocasionar muchos daños a los mismos. Hay más de 103.000 especies de babosas en todo el mundo, y aunque tienen sus diferencias y características particulares, todas segregan una baba cuando se desplazan.
In general, slugs are not very well received by people, much less by those who have gardens and crops of various types, since in large quantities, they can cause a lot of damage to them. There are more than 103,000 species of slugs around the world, and although they have their differences and particular characteristics, they all secrete slime when they move.
Era la segunda vez que me conseguía este tipo de babosa ya que sólo conocía las que a veces vienen entre las hojas de las lechugas. No quería agarrarla con la mano porque iba a alimentar a los gatos del edificio y quería tener las manos limpias, así que encontré una hoja seca y se la puse para que se subiera.
It was the second time I got this type of slug since I only knew the ones that sometimes come between the lettuce leaves. I didn't want to hold it with my hand because I was going to feed the cats that live in my building and I wanted to keep my hands clean, so I found a dry leaf and put it for her to climb on.
Las babosas y los caracoles son lo mismo, la única diferencia es que los primeros llevan su casa a cuestas mientras que las babosas, duermen en hoteles jejeje, grietas de árboles, conchas vacías e incluso bajo tierra.
Slugs and snails are the same, the only difference is that the former carry their house on their backs while the slugs sleep in hotels hehehe, tree cracks, empty shells and even underground.
Lo primero que piensa la mayoría de la gente cuando escucha la palabra caracol y babosa, es destructor de jardines y cultivos, y aunque esto en gran parte es cierto, esa no es la única función de estos moluscos. La mayoría de las babosas son carroñeras y ayudan a limpiar los suelos de todo tipo de materia orgánica en descomposición como frutas podridas, hojas, desechos de animales, hongos tóxicos, madera fungosa, plantas muertas, etc.
The first thing most people think of when they hear the word snail and slug is a destroyer of gardens and crops, and although this is largely true, that's not the only function of these mollusks. Most slugs are scavengers and help clean soils of all types of decaying organic matter such as rotten fruits, leaves, animal waste, toxic fungi, fungal wood, dead plants, etc.
Una de las cosas más bonitas que tienen estos animales son sus ojos, los cuales están ubicados en el extremo de sus dos encantadoras antenas, estos tentáculos son retráctiles y pueden volver a crecer en caso de pérdida.
One of the most beautiful things these animals have are their eyes, which are located at the end of their two charming antennae. These tentacles are retractable and can grow back if lost.
Observar con atención a la naturaleza nos permite conocer a cada especie y apreciar lo que hace a cada una de ellas única y útil para el ecosistema ya que todos los seres vivos tienen una función importante que cumplir para el equilibrio ecológico, a excepción del ser humano, que lo que hace es desequilibrar todo lo que a la naturaleza le ha llevado millones de años de evolución y perfeccionamiento 🙄🤦🏻♀️.
Observing nature carefully allows us to know each species and appreciate what makes each of them unique and useful for the ecosystem since all living beings have an important function to fulfill for ecological balance, with the exception of humans, who what they do is unbalance everything that has taken nature millions of years of evolution and perfection 🙄🤦🏻♀️.
