After a week of skipping, i continued on the Blue Trail, although i also made some shorter trips in the meantime. I don’t count the steps anymore because the cold and some navigation still put a lot of strain on my phone’s battery.
I also took great advantage of the thermos and the hot water in it. At the starting point, i went into a store in Zirc and bought a good quality plastic cup and filter tea so I could warm up anytime I was already cold.
I woke up very early again to get home before sunset.
After an hour of bus ride at the Zirc train station, i stamped it in my booklet.
Afterwards I set off on an asphalt road towards Nagyesztergár, out of the valley, but not on a very steep road. I wasn’t happy about the asphalt, but there was a few inches of soft snow on the edge.
A strong wind blew around the city and moved the snow. If it had come close, it would have been pretty uncomfortable and I couldn’t have taken a photo of it like that.
One last time I looked at the towers of the Abbey Church in Zirc.
I also had to walk through Nagyesztergár. Nice, tidy village, but i'd rather go there in the woods. I finally saw the forest on the edge of the village. Here at a resting place i drank my coffee and a sandwich.
I enjoyed the sun, the wind took away all the clouds.
Walking past a field, i saw snow swirling. Several mini tornadoes developed and gave an interesting, screaming sound.
As the sun was still low, the trees had long shadows. I’ve taken a lot of photos of them, I’m only showing one here because i’m going to put them in #ShadowHunters.
Thin snow shrouds covered everything. It didn’t stop me from walking, but sometimes i sank into dry tree leaves. It was fun.
I found strange ruins among the dense trees. At first i thought it was a medieval church ruin, but it was something else. It had tiny windows and was built partly of stone and partly of brick. It had quite a floor space. It may have been a granary at some point.
If they had taken care of the building and not allowed it to collapse, it could have even been turned into a tourist home.
Leaving the dense forest, the two sides of the road were lined with huge thistles, withered weeds.
Fortunately, I never had to use navigation here because the tourist signs were clearly visible and clear everywhere.
I met a group of deer a few times, but they were so quick that i was unable to photograph them. It would have taken hours of attention from a hiding place when they come to the feeder.
Traces of forestry activity were visible everywhere.
I noticed the carcass of a young wild boar in the creek. That's not a good sign! Among the wild boars, an epidemic is once again taking its toll.
I finally arrived at Bakonynana, where I drank a large cup of tea and basked in the sun for a short time.
I couldn’t get home from here, maybe just for the evening, so i had to get to another village, Tés, where buses run quite often.
I visited the beautiful Roman Baths again, but this time from above.
Wherever I went then, it was no longer a section of the Blue Trail. Maybe i'll report it too. I wandered a lot until i found the right route, while the boots, or rather the socks, rubbed my feet.
