Hello Tribe!🇵🇭
Today, I'm excited to share a special meal with you. This lunch features nilagang buto-buto ng baboy, a traditional Filipino dish that I cooked myself. Nilagang buto-buto ng baboy is a hearty soup made with tender pork bones, which release rich flavors into the broth. The dish also includes orange squash, adding a subtle sweetness and a beautiful color to the soup. 😋
Accompanying the soup is a side of steamed pechay (bok choy). The pechay adds a fresh and crisp element to the meal ( half cooked ), balancing the rich flavors of the pork and squash. Of course, no Filipino meal would be complete without a serving of rice, which soaks up the delicious broth and ties all the flavors together.
On the table, you'll also notice a container of Biko, a traditional Filipino sticky rice cake made with glutinous rice, coconut milk, and brown sugar. I bought from our neighbor she said she needs a Buenamano " First Sale of the Day" or "Lucky Sale" IDK what is the exact English term for that. Biko is a favorite dessert and a perfect sweet ending to a hearty meal like this.
I'm pleased to say that my wife and our kids enjoyed this meal very much, which makes the effort of preparing it all the more rewarding. Cooking for loved ones and seeing them enjoy the food is truly a special experience.
Thank you for joining me in this culinary journey. I hope you have a wonderful day and enjoy your meals as much as we did.
Until next time, happy eating!
