Howdy, I hope you all having a good time today.
Let's start this post by allowing me welcome you all to my Weekly Splinterlands Post. Initially I want to make a post about Scholarship, regarding there are some Scholarship opportunities for Splinterlands players. I was a scholarship players too, once I played in Metanomy Guild and I did play for some months for Bulldog1205 guild.
But later on, I decided to post with other topic. Right now I alreaady have my own account, and it is well built although not superior and I love it. So I feel like I am in no position to make any post about Splinterlands scholarship regarding I am no longer in that enviroment. So I decide to share you guys about something else.
GLADIUS CASE - Cutter Brieze
My topic today will be a Gladiator card, which is Cutter Brieze. There is one main reason why I like to share about him. I know this cards for a long time, having him for maybe years... However honestly I very rarely use him.
It is not because of he is weak. He is super strong, look at his attributes below:
1 mana requirement and you get a blootlust unit with 2 range damage. It's a great deal, however the big question is... If it is a great deal, why do we rarely see him?
This is the challenge of all gladiator cards, they are superstrong and "they" are more than one card. So our focus will be on the strongest one or the one that is on the top of our mind. For an earth element, there is one female warrior towering all other gladius cards, the famous Quora Towershead. If you want to make some variations, you will go with the gobson familty.
I have two those Gobson family, Bertrol and Katrelba. Both are awesome, and does this mean Cutter Brieze become useless?
Generally I will say yes. Most of the situation, the existance of Cutter Brieze is disrupting your line up because you will consume that Gladiator slot for Cutter Brieze, making you unable to put in the real deal such as Quora Towershead or Katrelba Gobson.
However in specific term, I do believe that all Gladiator are lethal in their own way. There will be a case where Cutter Brieze becomes crucial...
How? Let's see our battle then
HIGHLIGHTED BATTLE
Ok I know you might have flat face seeing that image. Brooh, this is so ordinary??
Yes you are right, this is a simple battle but this is how Cutter Brieze can perform well, or I say this is the condition where you will see him as a true threatening Gladiator.
So the first condition is we are having a very small mana cap battle. 12 Mana is the smallest of all, so this is definitely a condition that fits him well.
The second condition is, of course the main condition is that you can bring in Gladiator units. So we must be in a BRAWL battles or like this one, we are having Aren't You Entertained ruleset. Having a summoner that could bring out a Gladiator unit is not a good way to use Cutter Brieze. As I have said above better you aim a line up for Quora Towershead or Katrelba Gobson.
So will this work? let's see how this would go
- The battle started with both side buffing their magic attacks... my opponent had an extra buff, it is protect ability, which gave +2 armors to everyone in that team.
- They came with 2 Melee damage and 2 magic damage, combined those attacks, they had 4 damage per round.
- My team had 3 Melee damage and 2 range damage, which made our team having 5 damage per round.
- This should be an easy lose for me, they only needed a sneak attacker or opportunity attacker to wipe my Cutter Brieze. The reason they did not have it because the mana cap was too small and maybe my opponent was too textbook oriented
- nobody died in the first round. Both of our total attack damage was too low to wipe any tanks thee.
- This became a contest of endurance, who would be killed due to attrition war.
- Nothing changed until the 3rd round. this was the point where my Cutter Brieze killed their xenith monk, and that closed this battle for sure.
- Even we had round 4, but nothing could change. Look at my Pelacor Mercenary, he healed 3 health point a round, and their Queen Mycelia only hit him 2 damage. So this means the battle is already settled from this point forward.
- And my team won convincingly by having all on their full health.
CLOSING AND SUMMARY
As you can see, Cutter brieze brought a massive win on that battle. I stick on my opinion that you really need a very small mana cap to be able to exploit Cutter Brieze prowess, one more mana cap up, I would replace Cutter Brieze with my Bertrol Gobson.
So if you want to say this Cutter Brieze is useless, be my guess... It doesn't wrong, however I believe all Gladiator cards are lethal in their own way. I have shown how lethal Cutter Brieze on that battle, which he fitted perfectly in that mana cap.
I strongly disagree if you think he is a good filler, because as I have said before, better you get Quora Towershead or Katrelba Gobson as your Gladiator, instead of forcing small unit like Cutter Brieze as your main Gladiator.
That's for today Splinterlands post. Do you have different opinion about this Cutter Brieze, or maybe you have some feedback for this one. Please share your thought on the comment section below...
