RE: SportsTalkSocial: A Little Light at the End of the Tunnel?

in Sports Talk Social6 days ago (edited)

Hello @ervin-lemark,

Thank you for participating in this open discussion in an attempt to help us find the best path forward for the SportsTalkSocial community and the SPORTS token.

I will change the order of your questions, but I will answer them all.

What are we voting for?

We will vote to decide whether we want to be able to improve the community and the value of SPORTS or whether we are content with the current state where there is no attempt to improve things and where the creator of the community has abandoned it.

Voting for centralization

We all like to have decentralized systems, but if we analyze the current situation of the SportsTalkSocial community, it is not decentralized.

The “DAO” we speak of is not really a DAO as it has at least 4 centralization points:

  • the sports-gov account owner can remove authorization from the DAO and simply walk away with the account
  • there are two people with access to the sports-gov keys (Patrick and TaskManager)
  • the code is hosted on a private server and if the owner wants to simply turn off the mechanism and we no longer have a DAO (this can currently be seen since TaskManager has left ARCHON and the DAO is stopped)
  • the maintenance of the DAO is completely dependent on one person (TASKMANAGER, who left Hive, and we don't know what will happen to the DAO).

Taking into account the points mentioned above, we can conclude that we have never been truly decentralized.

RoadMap

You have every right to want to know a roadmap. However, I am currently unable to draw a complete and fully detailed roadmap as I do not have all the data that exists in the community.
I still don't know if we will be able to maintain the front end domain and code since these are assets outside the blockchain, and we may not be able to transfer them.

However, a year and a half ago I made a post where I proposed the first steps to be taken.

I promise that I will try to work on a more detailed and clear roadmap as soon as I have all the data to work with.

Poll Details

Defines community for all accounts that are SPORTS holders.
The people that will have voting right will be SPORTS holders since they are the ones that shall define the best for them interest.
The vote will be weighted according to SPORTS Voting Power, as normally we do.
If “DAO” was working, it would need 51% of Sports VP to be approved.
I'm currently thinking about using the proposal system we have on the Sports Talk Social front end, and I think 51% is also needed (I'm not sure about this since I can't find any posts talking about it).

I hope I have clarified the questions you asked.

Thank you for your answers. It shows you care. The issue is, in my opinion, you might be the only one who cares. Or one of the few.

That's why I think the first step would be to find out if there really is an active community that is interested in continuing and reviving and bringing this Sports Social story on another level.

Personally, I am selling $SPORTS tokens and soon I won't be a part of this "community" any longer.

Please, don't take it personally, it isn't meant so. I simply don't see any future here. I asked my questions for clarification and to help wake up others who might be interested.

Good luck with your efforts, anyways.
