Unfortunately, you're probably right. Perhaps the leofinance folks would buy it, to (a) avoid such scammage and (b) it'd be good to have if only to forward to the .io address. But, the domain holder may be asking way too much to make it worthwhile.
If the latter is true then it might be too much for the scammers as well.
