So are there special bunkers for this like in the twister movies cause I have roughly no idea on how to deal with a real life tornado. What do you mean by emergency places to go to?
Usually there is not a bunker. Some business have them but the average home owner just goes down to the lowest level of the home.
So their are basically secure basements that does not have the element of the upper portion falling on top of it just like a bunker is?
Yes other than the wooden floor on the top level if it's not a split entry home. You brace against a corner or outer room near the foundation..
Wow I will try to google image search such basements as I am curious to know how these types look.
Really most people just have basic basements. Storm shelters built in homes are mostly in homes for the real wealthy.
I am glad we do not have any tornado issues in our area but I personally have an issue with this constant rain as I also live in a basement and I got some breathing issues thanks to this terrain and it builds up sometimes even more thanks to constant raining.
