I will start this post showing some wintery snow pictures. This was my Thursday morning and for about an hour I was in search of capturing some snow. There's starting to become less of it. I tell you my yard is all but clear of it. Mostly only the dense forests hold it still. There are still some roofs, trees, and ground that hold the snow fall from Christmas and Boxer day.The sun and the bouncing temperatures to/from freezing have contributed to its loss.
Moving back here with this picture from Wednesday. I made three snow balls and they were completely melted by Friday. I had some plans for them but it didn't manifest. At the time of packing them into shape it was already getting dark. I was going to revisit them Thursday but I didn't get around to it. Once Friday arrived they were gone and the backyard was all but bear with snow. Just some leaves cover the ground now.
Have any of you figured out what I was going to do with those snowballs? Well I will not leave you in suspense. I was planning to make a snowman ☃️ I look back and realize it would have only been possible if I continued that night in the dark. I did see a sickly one yesterday in the neighborhood, it's barely holding on. I was driving and it was dark when I seen it or else I would have taken a picture of it.
A sunset from Thursday morning. This one contains both natural and unnatural looks. Being located near an air base and an airport the sky sometimes gets filled with contrails left by jets and air planes. You see sometimes the clouds get to play with similar looking substances 😊
While driving back home from my seeking out snow I witnessed the moon. I find it really cool when you can see both the moon and the sun during mid-morning. It would have been nice to hang out and see just how long it stayed. The few minutes I witnessed it I did think just that. I just love the view of the moon in the blue sky, what about you?
So for lunch I attended a work function. About a dozen of us met at a local bar and grill for someone's retirement luncheon. The individual wanted a small gathering of people. I worked with the individual for about 15 years. People in attendance included one of his former bosses, co-workers, and even a few recently retired workers. It was enjoyable telling stories of good, bad and of course funny memories. Also nice seeing some former co-workers I haven't seen in awhile.
The individual is retiring for the second time. He did 22 years servicing his country in the United States Air Force (USAF) than committed another 20 years of service working as a civilian for the USAF. Much experience leaving us today and his work center will definitely feel the pain some with his departure.
I struggled some with deciding what to eat. I came in thinking I will just get a burger and fries. Once I looked at the wide variety of things on the menu I became very uncertain, haha. If I had come here before it may have been easy but it was my first time here. I ditched the thought of a burger and fries. I was in between a salad, wrap, pasta bake, colazone and pizza. I ended up going with pizza. Instead of going for an individual meal I bought a medium sized pizza. Hey it will be another meal for later and I can share it with others at home. I only had four pieces so there was plenty left over as I left with it in a box.
Yesterday I caught these birds hanging out really close to me. The were chirping and didn't seemed all that alarmed with my presence. I'm not all that familiar with the variety of birds here but I believe these are sparrows.
About thirty minutes before six o'clock I witnessed a pretty cool sun set. I decided to take some pictures before heading home. It's good to show patronage to your countries flag and I'm glad I captured it in this soon to be night sky. Next I took a picture of a bridge that has some metal art, one in particular looks like a ship to me. The others are what you imagine them to be, haha. I guess one looks like a compass. The last photo was taken on the last long street before I arrived home.
Here we are today (Saturday) with some amazing glows from the sun rising. I can't tell you how many amazing sun rises I have seen in the last month. It certainly didn't disappoint today. The only thing better would be to witness it away from the city. I was delivery driving and it didn't lead me out to the country side until later.
Here I took some shots of a really old shed that has seen better days. Big trees and small ones have taken over its lean. I really love the old rustic look to it. Not going to lie, I would have loved to investigate closer to see what it holds. I seen a table, fence and a sign. I'm sure there are some rusty treasurers within that shed. I can only imagine how many decades some of the stuff has been in there.
I had a delivery on the outskirts of town and decided to take these photographs. Factories and plants are often on the outskirts of many towns. There is a bit of coldness in the air and when there is smoke and steam from these production plants it slowly rises and sticks around a bit longer compared to when it's warmer. Well it can be essentially pollution but it does float among the air in a beautiful way.
All my photos were taken by my Motorola One 5G UW ace smart phone. Also all photos were taken recently. I hope you enjoyed the photos and some of the stuff that I have done these last few days. Take care, stay safe and Happy New Years to everyone.
