A Building With Murals on All Sides

in StreetArt19 days ago (edited)

Hello friends and Hivians. It's been an up and down kind of week for me. I look foward to the weekend but one day of it will be lost due to work. Anyways for today's post I'm will share a building that was almost all covered in murals.

The murals I share with you today are on the Immigrant Legal Center building. It's located at 4223 Center Street in Omaha, Nebraska. The artist is David Manzanares, a local here, born in Mexico, who is an American citizen. This mural was painted by him with the help of some team members very recently this year.

There was quite a bit of construction in the vicinity of this building. There wasn't a way to get a direct square picture of this mural because equipment and crew members were present. However I did manage to get a complete shot of it.

A very colorful mural with a complete view of an outdoor activity. The arrangement of flowers at the bottom, people, building, windmill, sky and clouds make up all of this mural. This mural appears to be of a family gathering perhaps. Maybe someone was just arriving or departing for a particular reason. I get the feeling that everyone is in line to give the one person a hug. I found this side to be my favorite among the others.

This one was the toughest to get a picture of. I could only take a picture of it from an odd angle due to it being fenced in with a good size hole in front of it. I was thinking at the time not only is construction a pain for driving but also for taking pictures.

I like the orange back drop and how the artist used settle colors which blended in well. I particularly like the left side of the mural the best. The instrument playing and the kids playing sports I thought was neat. This mural screams culture and social activities!

This one didn't have any ground tore up near it but had a few obstructions. Just ignore the portable restrooms the mural itself did not stink, hehe. There were some staged construction equipment behind an enclosed fence in what would of been in the center for the best photo.

A touching very colorful mural. Center piece is a mother hugging her children. I like the landscape with the different hills and the sun showing itself between a couple of them.

This is the front entrance of the building and is the only side not affected by construction. I had to take a picture of it across the street to capture the whole side. It took awhile to do this because it's a pretty busy street. Probably took me at least 5 minutes to cross the street and I ended up giving up trying to take a picture with no traffic. Go figure the side that has the least going on with it as far as mural stand point was one I could square up with. Granted a lot of windows make it this way.

Other than the painted women on the left side much of the other paintings are very simple and uniform with each other. Still much better than how this building looked previously. The bottom level of windows took in some really cool reflections of neighborhood houses across the street.

It was an interesting building to check out with all this art painted on it. I think the art very much compliments the purpose of this building. All these murals give off culture and social elements

The construction made it a little difficult to capture better photos. I guess it takes away from it a little as well. If I didn't know it was a recent painted mural I would have thought it was older. It's fall here and I would guess it won't be until May when all the construction is complete around it.

Hope you enjoyed this four sided mural building. I can say it's something I haven't seen on a building before. Maybe one side or two sides but not all four sides. I'm sure since I have got involved in mural hunting I will run across more.

That's all I have for you today. Take care, stay safe and have happy days ahead. Until next time!

Imagine how much effort was exerted to paint those murals😯. Climbing a ladder or use a gondola. The artist must really talented.♥️

Yes pretty talented for sure. I've shared some of his other work I believe. Most of this was done with a sky lift, I know this because he has some cool videos on IG that showed the progress. Well there's more murals I have spotted just need to re-visit and snap, snap, hehe.

Very cool! Glad you didn't get run over while trying to take those pictures!

Haha I was careful in that regards. I did have the feeling come over me that someone was going to ask what I was doing. If there weren't construction workers around I would have got a little more daring.

Stunning building with these painted walls especially the one with the mother and her childs. Great shots despite the construction site 👍 Thanks for sharing these pics on The StreetArt Community.

Have a great Weekend

Thank you it was too hard to pass up. I haven't seen complete buildings covered on all sides with murals until this one. Perhaps as I continue hunting for them I will see more 😃

I wonder how long it took them to paint the whole sides... Amazing artworks! !PIZZA

Thanks Jane 😊 I know it was a team contribution not just one guy doing it all. I just found out via quick search it took five weeks to do all four which to me seems quick. The amazing part is the construction was still ongoing there.

Yeah 5 days is quick. They are amazing..

The murals are nice and well executed. They depict things we see in everyday life and they do that very well. You went to great lengths to get the pictures and that's good. Don't worry about the up snd downs you're currently experiencing. Just do your best snd everything else will fall in place. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you. Yes the construction really made it challenging. These murals were cool and unique in that there were four of them in one place.

Most of the time just moving forward solves the not so good days unless you fall in quick sand and don't get the things you need such as sleep.

Your welcome there will be more to share as I search for more. Have happy times ahead 😃

Beautiful murals! I wish we had like that in our city.

Maybe there are some hidden murals near you. I've seen some people share them in the Phillipines 😃

Yeah there are are! But so far, I haven't seen a mural as big as those you have shared 🙂

Wow! Loved it. Thanks for sharing

Glad you enjoyed and thanks for stopping by 😃

It's my first time seeing a full building being painted! :O How cool is that!
While I am not sure which side I enjoy more as all of them are pretty amazing, makes me wonder if the top of the building is also painted! lol
