I know the layer 2 problem. I thought to myself about a token but it needs a purpose or value like you said. I had a few ideas but nothing serious. At least I thought that people should not believe in this. I can totally see and understand how hard it must be for you and that's another reason why I love your project. You don't give up and you are dedicated and that alone is a lot of value.
