Greetings friends lovers of the architectural pieces of the world! Today I am pleased to present a very striking sculpture that is located in the capital of Venezuela called Abra Solar, join me to know a little about this artistic beauty.
It's been about 2 years since I last visited Caracas, so I tried to make the most of the days I spent there. I was with my husband who is Cuban and had not had the opportunity to visit these beautiful places, and also with our 3 year old daughter.
We arrived at Plaza Venezuela, a place that seems to me to have everything, green areas, sculptures, tribute to Andres Bello, playground and exercise park, a huge fountain that that day was under maintenance and the view of the huge buildings that surround it make you feel that you are in the city.
In other opportunities I had visited Plaza Venezuela, but I had not been able to get to Abra Solar. So being right underneath the sculpture was an amazing experience. I saw this work in art education at school, because this work has many years more than me, it was installed in this place of the capital in 1983.
It has more than 40 meters long distributed in 16 meters on the floor of the square. It is said that its author, Alejandro Otero, wanted to express a childhood memory of the sun reflected in the waters of the Orinoco River.
I approached to take a picture of the aluminum and it was shining in the sun. The imposing structure, in its beginnings had blades that turned with the wind, with time it deteriorated and no longer has them but it still looks very beautiful.
I loved seeing the aluminum shining in the sun. The ornamental plants that surround the work give it a rustic but natural style, minimalist but elegant and that is something I like in art.
The bases of the structure are fixed to the ground with huge screws and cement.
The walkways of the plaza are made of cement, simulating bricks. The imposing palms in grouped sets shade the benches so that visitors can sit down to rest and take cover from the sun.
Apart from Abra solar, which was my main interest when visiting the plaza, what I liked most was the sculpture tribute to Andres Bello called Fisiocromía, is a piece of abstract art by Carlos Perez, who pays tribute to the illustrious and example Andres Bello.
My daughter was having fun in the playground while mom was taking pictures. In this area the little ones have games and a space with artificial grass so they can run around safely.

saludos amigos amantes de las piezas arquitectónicas del mundo! hoy me complace presentarles una escultura muy llamativa que se encuentra en la capital de Venezuela llamada Abra solar, acompáñenme a conocer un poco sobre esta belleza artística.
Hace unos 2 años aproximadamente que no visitaba Caracas, así que los días que pase allá trate de aprovecharlos al máximo. Estaba con mi esposo que es cubano y no había tenido la oportunidad de conocer estos bonitos lugares, y también con nuestra hija de 3 años.
Llegamos a Plaza Venezuela, un lugar que me parece que lo tiene todo, áreas verdes, esculturas, homenaje a Andrés bello, parque infantil y parque de ejercicios, una fuente enorme que ese día estaba en mantenimiento y la vista de los edificios enormes que la rodean te hacen sentir que estas en la ciudad.
En otras oportunidades había visitado Plaza Venezuela, pero no había podido llegar hasta Abra solar. Así que estar justamente debajo de la escultura me pareció una experiencia asombrosa. Vi este trabajo en educación artística en el colegio, pues esta obra tiene muchos años mas que yo, la instalaron en este lugar de la capital en el año 1983.
Cuenta con mas de 40 metros de largo distribuidos en 16 metros en el suelo de la plaza. Se dice que su autor, Alejandro Otero, quiso expresar un recuerdo de la infancia de el sol reflejado en las aguas del rio Orinoco.
Me acerque para tomar una fotografía al aluminio y brillaba con el sol. La imponente estructura, en sus inicios tenia unas aspas que giraban con el viento, con el tiempo se deterioró y ya no las tiene pero igual se ve muy bonita.
Me encantó ver el aluminio brillando con el sol. Las plantas ornamentales que rodean la obra le dan un estilo rustico pero natural, minimalista pero elegante y es algo que gusta en el arte.
Las bases de la estructura están fijas al suelo con unos enormes tornillos y cemento.
Las caminerías de la plaza son de cemento, simulan ladrillos trabados. Las palmas imponentes en conjuntos agrupados le dan sombra a las bancas para que los visitantes puedan sentarse a descansar y cubrirse del sol.
Aparte de Abra solar, que fue mi principal interes al visitar la plaza, lo que más me gusto fue la escultura homenaje a Andrés Bello que se llama Fisiocromía, es una pieza de arte abstracto del autor Carlos Pérez, que rinde homenaje al ilustre y ejemplo Andrés Bello.
Mi hija se divertía en el parque infantil mientras mamá tomaba las fotografías. En esta area los pequeños tienen juegos y un espacio con grama artificial para que puedan correr seguros.
Me cantó el recorrido que hice por la plaza. Toda la familia disfrutó mucho del paseo y el poder conocer una plaza tan importante como lo es Plaza Venezuela. Espero les guste mi publicación, gracias por pasar y apoyar. Nos vemos en una próxima oportunidad. Chao!
