Hi,
Yesterday when I was returning with my boss to Asturias from some commercial visits outside Leon, we stopped for lunch in a village in the Asturian mountain that separates Asturias from Leon.
The place where we stopped was Felgueras (Lena) a small village with a green mountain environment, with stone houses and tile roofs.
In one of the houses, and I think the only one with a painted exterior, we found Casa Maria.
Casa Maria is one of the highest rated restaurants on TryAdvisor for 100% Asturian cuisine.
The restaurant is not very big, so it is necessary to call to make a reservation. Especially at weekends.
The décor is charming with some still lifes and some wood carvings, such as a clock near the bar.
As for the food, I recommend ordering the special menu where you can choose from several first courses. But the star dishes are undoubtedly the fabada asturiana and the pote.
The stew is simply spectacular and I am not a great lover of vegetables. But in this case this Pote Asturiano made me change my mind.
We were given 5 choices for our main course. But they recommended the pork loin marinated by themselves. To my taste, the use of paprika is a bit too much.
To top it all off, something soft like a lemon cream is always nice. But other homemade desserts such as cheesecake or rice pudding can also be enjoyed at Casa Maria.
Best regards.
