Taking up Available Opportunities to Make Money.

in The MINIMALIST6 months ago (edited)

Anyone can become rich as long as the secret is made open. Since I became independent in sorting out some of my school expenses, I have learned to think outside the box. Ever since I became financially independent of my parents, I began to think of how to reduce the risk of damaging what I have and also how to reuse what others feel is spoiled. I learned to be a minimalist type.

There is this popular business in my area called "Iron Condemn". This business simply implies the gathering of iron scraps to a particular quantity to sell them off. The iron scraps could be drink cans or any metallic waste. I took up this opportunity, I never let any of the empty drink cans taken in the house go to the waste bin. I took responsibility for them immediately after use.

I often gather them in my container. The good news about this business is that I often get a little money from it. I use this money wisely, I'm never an extravagant type.

One of the motives for earning in this life is to shift every shame or shyness from external sources. I succeeded in my business because I ignored the shame in the business. I engaged in picking up every metallic scrap I saw even when walking on the way. Most times when I pick up this metallic waste dropped off by the roadside, people around and most of my friends often think I was going insane. I didn't mind them because I knew my goal: to grow financially. Everything turned into a movie because, in less than a month, I was able to generate enough finances for me to purchase a headphone. Those of my mates who gave me a gap because of my business of reusing and getting materials to be sold for recycling became my good friends. Most of them now come to borrow my headphones to show off.

What I learned from what I just narrated above, is the quality of determination and focus. I was determined to make money not minding the shame. I now have customers who often come around to buy these metal scraps for recycling. It's all about living a minimalist life, a life of management and reducing spending on things that don't matter. A simple life without pressure and fear of bankruptcy.

In the few times I have stayed in the school dormitory, I have learned the quality of reducing the risks of damage to my belongings. This is also a very smart way of conserving my finances. Living a minimalist life is a simple definition of my life. This headphone I purchased, I have plans to use it, when it spoils I will repair and reuse it for at least seven years. Living a simple life can make one's lifespan a memorable one.

Though I don't have the capability of recycling most things, what I do is apply the rule of "Reduce, Repair and Reuse". When I have reused any of my items till it is no longer possible to be repaired, I can then sell them off for recycling. I have a mother who knows how to make liquid soap. Since I have such a talented mother, we have adopted the part of the rule, "Reuse" in the sense that we often reuse our plastic bottles to package the liquid soap for sale.

We often sold them off before my mother learned the steps for making the soap. She knew the need to live a minimalist life, she saw the need to learn to make the soap by herself and reduce the expenses of having to buy from shops at higher prices. As she started the business of making the soap, we needed what to use in packaging so we had to think outside the box. We brainstormed and found out that we could reuse plastic bottles in packaging the soap for sale.

That's how we had employed the rule of "Reuse" in living a minimalist life and we have been having a happier home.

I as a business boy also took this opportunity to earn a little from my Mom. We signed a contract that I would always pick plastic bottles for her and she would pay me a little money. I

have been growing financially with this little business of mine and since I earn at a low rate, I have been having peace of mind because I am a minimalist person. If I wasn't a minimalist kind of person, I would have been a thief by now because the little earnings I make wouldn't have been enough for me to show off and balance peer pressure. My minimalist nature made me learn the rule of "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle".

The major part of this rule I observe at home is the "Reduce and Reuse". I only support the "Recycle" aspect by gathering these materials(iron scraps) from houses and streets to sell to those who need them for recycling and get some cash in return. It's just all about living a simple life, no shame in making money because there is no shame in spending it too.
