I think the decision was made to prevent people from using HBD & the hive blockchain as nothing but a well-earning savings-account, while contributing nothing to the community or the blockchain itself.
There is some value in that argument, but on the other hand, it does bring in new people to hive, and if maybe only 5% of those new people are active, it is better than 0 new people…
In any case, the 1 million HP would definitely be super :-D
I did some quick thinking, if you have 1 million HP, and you upvote someone’s post in about 1/2 (or even more) of the non-western rich countries, they can live off of your single vote for at least a day. That’s how much good all this can bring…
