If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that waiting for perfect weather is a luxury I can’t afford. Given the forecast of relentless rain with a sprinkle of sunshine, and a looming storm, I knew today was the day for a long walk. After all, who knows when we’ll have a completely sunny day again—perhaps when I’m 80!
So, armed with a rain jacket and an unyielding spirit, I set out. The journey began in a gentle drizzle that quickly turned into a downpour. Yet, the beauty of nature in the rain is something special. The canal, with its solitary boat, seemed to come alive with the patter of rain. The fields were a vibrant green under a momentary patch of blue sky, framed perfectly by arching trees. And then there was the storm—dark, brooding clouds reflecting ominously in the water, promising an exciting challenge ahead.
Despite the wet clothes and the relentless rain, the walk was invigorating. I covered 28.5km, clocking in over 35k steps. Each step was a testament to resilience and a reminder that sometimes the most memorable adventures are the ones where you embrace the unexpected.
Here’s to more journeys that challenge the spirit and reward the soul, rain or shine. 🌧️🚶♂️🌳
