Happy Hump Day, amazing people!

It's another Wednesday Walk tale and I'm excited to share with you a spontaneous family adventure that happened just two weeks ago. It was one of those days when my husband decided we needed to escape from the house and immerse ourselves in nature. So, we hopped on a trike, and off we went, with no particular destination in mind. Our journey led us to the charming barangay Kilat in San Gabriel, La Union, and more specifically, to its two steel hanging bridges.

Nestled on a hill leading to the mountains, these bridges hang over a rocky river, providing an incredible view of the surrounding landscape. The first bridge we encountered was wide enough for a motorcycle to pass. It was sturdy and gave us a sense of security as we traversed it. We even paused to take a few photos, capturing the smiles on our faces against the backdrop of the lush greenery. The second bridge, however, was a completely different story. It was about 100 yards from the first bridge. It's long and narrow, and it seemed like it had seen better days. The steel appeared to be on the verge of breaking, and the bridge swayed as we cautiously stepped onto it. Each step we took was met with a creaking sound that echoed through the quiet surroundings, amplifying our sense of adventure. I must admit, I was a bit scared. After all, there were three of us on this rickety bridge. But my daughter, bless her brave soul, was more concerned about her phone falling than the bridge giving way. Kids these days, right? But her courage made me realize that sometimes it's the uncertainties that make an adventure more thrilling.

Despite the initial fear, the experience was nothing short of amazing. The view from the bridge was breathtaking—the rocky river below, the mountains in the distance, and the serene sound of nature all around us. It felt like we were in our little world, away from the noise and chaos of everyday life. This spontaneous trip turned out to be a great family bonding experience. The laughter, the shared fear, and the sense of accomplishment after crossing the bridges—these are moments we will cherish forever. It reminded us of the importance of stepping out of our comfort zones and the joy of discovering new places together.

And oh, we found a very friendly dog on our way back and had to give this furry friend a loving belly rubs before we left the place. So, if you ever find yourself somewhere in La Union and are looking for an off-the-beaten-path adventure, I highly recommend a visit to the hanging bridges in Kilat, San Gabriel. It's not just about crossing a bridge; it's about the journey, the shared experiences, and the memories you create along the way. Remember, adventures are the best way to learn. So, don't be afraid to take that spontaneous trip, to explore that unknown path, or to cross that shaky bridge. You never know what incredible experiences await on the other side.

I hope you enjoyed reading about our adventure as much as I enjoyed sharing it with you. If you have any questions or want to share your own travel experiences, feel free to drop a comment. Until next time, happy travels, dear friends and Happy Valentine's Day to those who celebrate it!

Such beautiful scenery
I love bridges like that and would happily cross them, my wife on the other hand no way would she go out on it

Thanks for joining the Wednesday Walk :)

Have a great day :)

Hold your wife's hand, @tattoodjay I am sure, she'll feel safe :)
Thank you, you too!

Lovely breath taking photographs. Appreciate your braveness to continue your journey, even after hearing the creaking sound over the bridge. Your daughter is more brave, as her worries are more of the phone rather than herself. Very sweet. But for sure, adventures teach us a lot and we learn a lot. Great experience.

Thank you, @shamis It was actually fun and can't wait to do it again. :)

Once a while, such adventures should never be missed my friend.

Indeed, my friend!

Thank you, sis. Pretty sure, you'll enjoy!
