Greetings, my dear creative friends. I hope you are doing very well, in good health and well being.
I am pleased to be back in this beautiful community to share with you the transformation of a wooden tray that I acquired in December. From the moment I got it, I had the intention of intervening it to give it my personal touch. However, due to the busy days of December, it was impossible for me to find the right time to paint it and create a tray that would harmonize with the decorative style of my home.
This Sunday, I woke up with my creative side full of energy and got to work.

Me complace estar de vuelta por esta linda comunidad para compartir con ustedes la transformación de una bandeja de madera que adquirí en diciembre. Desde el instante que la obtuve, tenía la intención de intervenirla para darle mi toque personal. Sin embargo, por los ajetreados días de diciembre, me fue imposible encontrar el momento adecuado para dedicarme a pintarla y crear así una bandeja que armonizara con el estilo decorativo de mi hogar.
Este domingo, desperté con mi lado creativo lleno de energía y me puse manos a la obra.
I bought this tray with the purpose of keeping organized the cups I keep in the cart I have next to the kitchen and, also, to carry them, comfortably, to the table when serving coffee to the guests I receive at home.
I have told you before that I do not have as many materials here as I had at home in Cumaná. However, some time ago, I bought some paints and a stencil to work on the mirror that I have at home and that I showed you in this publication.
Compré esta bandeja con el propósito de mantener organizadas las tazas que guardo en el carrito que tengo al lado de la cocina y, también, para llevarlas, cómodamente, a la mesa a la hora de servir café a los invitados que reciba en casa.
Les he comentado antes que no cuento con tantos materiales aquí como los que tenía en mi casa en Cumaná. Sin embargo, hace un tiempo, compré unas pinturas y una plantilla para intervenir el espejo que tengo en casa y que les mostré en esta publicación.
So, using these same materials, I proceeded to paint the tray. I followed the same pattern as the mirror with the stencil and I simply loved the result.

- Acrylic paints: green, wet clay and tobacco.
- Brush
- Stencil
- Sponge
- Dot painter
Así que, utilizando estos mismos materiales, procedí a pintar la bandeja. Seguí el mismo patrón del espejo con la plantilla y el resultado, simplemente, me encantó.

Step by step
Before starting to paint, I wiped the tray with a dry cloth to clean the dust. I should have used sandpaper to smooth the surface, but since I didn't have any, I skipped that step and painted with the roughness of the wood.
I painted the front of the tray with the lighter paint which is the wet clay shade. Then, I glued the stencil on the inside base and with a little sponge, I painted the branch of this stencil. I let it dry.
Paso a paso
Antes de empezar a pintar, le pasé un pañito seco a la bandeja para limpiar el polvo. Debí pasar una lija para suavizar la superficie, pero como no tenía, salté ese paso y pinté con las rugosidades de la madera.
Pinté la parte frontal de la bandeja con la pintura más clara que es del tono arcilla mojada. Luego, pegué la plantilla en la base interior y con una esponjita, pinté la rama de esta plantilla. Dejé secar.

While drying this part of the tray. On the front, I hand painted some green leaves and bordered them with the tobacco colored paint. Then, with the stippler, I painted some small flowers. I let them dry and then picked up the leaf design painted in the center of the inside of the tray.
Mientras secaba esta parte de la bandeja. En el frente, pinté, a pulso, unas hojas verdes y las bordeé con la pintura color tabaco. Luego, con el pintapuntos, pinté como una florecitas. Dejé secar y luego retomé el diseño de la hoja pintada en el centro de la parte interior de la bandeja.

With the wet clay colored paint, I painted around the leaf to give a shaded effect and around the edges of the leaf, I applied the tobacco brown paint to finish the design.
For the final finish, I have to buy a clear varnish to apply to the tray to seal and protect the paint so that it lasts over time.
Unable to resist the curiosity of seeing the tray with the cups, I decided to show you the result, which to my satisfaction, turned out beautiful and charming.

Con la pintura de color arcilla mojada, pinté alrededor de la hoja como para dar un efecto sombreado y por los bordes de la misma, apliqué la pintura marrón tabaco para terminar el diseño.
Para el acabado final, tengo que comprar un barniz transparente para aplicárselo a la bandeja y así, sellar y proteger la pintura para que dure en el tiempo.
Sin poder resistirme a la curiosidad de ver la bandeja con las tazas, decidí mostrarles el resultado, que para mi satisfacción, resultó hermoso y encantador.
