Hi, I am Arveno and i am from Surabaya city Indonesia. I want to make content about the bad side of Indonesia. Yeah as good citizen it would not fair if i just sharing the good part of my country. You should the bad side of my country right. Since i believe there are no country that really perfect. And this part is talking about corruption. Indonesia is very famous about corruption. Maybe not directly corrupting but sometimes nepotism and collaborating about cutting the budget and increasing in expenses is common and usual thing that can acceptable. And this is wrong. And since i graduated high school the candidate of president until mayor is never be a good person. There is some good people as candidate, however after they took the position, they change to corrupt person too.
There are many factor that this vicious circle never ended. First if you want to be elected you need to bribe many people since in Indonesia adhere to democratic ideology so if you want to be fixed selected you need to holding as much as vote of the people. Not by people heart with work ethic and performance of the candidate. From this habit from time to time, it really bad and worsened along with time.
The second factor there is still legacy politics that never end and cut. So, many rich people still overpowering and controlling politician These crazy rich people wont their money reduced even a little. Thats why they need to control the highest power in indonesia that is President. This is kinda open secret to everyone in Indonesia and peoples starting to think it's normal and cannot doing anything about that since the number 1 person in Indonesia cannot doing anything too.
The third because people in my country are low resource human. Many people said they have faith just in mouth and not in heart. And maybe there are many people who is faithful, but when they are sounding they will get silenced by the goverment and shutted down. Along with time,the faithful people will faded away and dont care anymore. Thats why this country cannot be developed well, although as many people know that Indonesia is rich on Natural Resources from fish,wood,trees,nickel,coal,even gold. But, yeah Indonesia people cannot doing anything with this natural resources. So they sold to other country and given less money. Thats quite funny but that fact.
Since this problem is really complex and dont know need to be fixed from where. And as normal citizen i cannot doing anything at all. After all, since the last 2 period i never choose anyone. I dont care either with that. All the candidate doing almost same. Many promises good thing and eradicate corruption. But after elected, they like lost its fang, They are going to kitty that cannot doing anything just obeying to all corruption that usually controlled by crazy rich behind it. So, what need to do is very complex. Even if me myself going to be president or ok it is too high. Maybe a mayor, i maybe can corrupt too since inside the institution. Almost all people doing corrupt.
And for this corruption, my hope is at least not all people in institution corrupting, from time corrupting till money corrupting. And at least this corruption habit can be cut down. I know it will be hard as the old rezim and old era still alive and still powerfull until right now. Maybe after 3 or 4 new generation corruption will eroded. Since i believe as my era many people embarassed and disgust about this corruption. And we still cannot doing anything since in Politics we are still very young and still trampled by older generation. In the end Corruption remains a formidable challenge for Indonesia, demanding continuous vigilance and collective action to create a more transparent and equitable society. It is though but i believe in the future Indonesia can eradicate corruption till the root. And i am hoping my son will had experienced the glory days of Indonesia that free of corruption. So, if anyone of you want to stay in Indonesia for a long time. Maybe you need to know this first. So you are not shocking after hearing many corruption in many media. But, still Indonesia is the country where i born and i still in loved with this country. As good citizen i still proud of my country. Where there is a bad side there is a good side too. And i dont think other people free from corruption too. Including superpower country in the world. Corruption is really hard to be eradicated.
