Whole lotta love is the opening song of the second album by the British band Led Zeppelin II (1969). Jimmy Page spoke to the Wall Street Journal about how he wrote and created his unforgettable riffs: “The guitar riff for Whole Lotta Love came to me at my house on the Thames in the summer of '68, Pangbourne (UK). I think my first love for the great intros of rockabilly guitarists was my inspiration. Once I developed the riff, I knew it was strong enough to not only start the song, but to continue it throughout the entire song. Vocalist Robert Plant, bassist John Paul Jones and drummer John Bonham also enjoyed themselves. “When I played the band's riffs in my living room a few weeks later, preparing for our first album, the emotions were immediate and collective. "I felt like coral reefs were addictive but forbidden."

Robert Plant explains in an interview with The Musician: “A riff on the page was a riff on the page. He just got a scratch... more than anything else. Now we are willing to pay the price. At that time we talked a lot about what to do. They considered me too retarded... Well, if I succeed, they won't catch me. "Here's the game."
