A cup of coffee every afternoon is already part of my daily routine, as well as the first coffee of the day in the morning, before starting any of my daily tasks, but when do I prefer a very creamy coffee with milk? It seems unbelievable, but it is not exactly with breakfast. This delicious, creamy, steaming drink steals my senses on a cold afternoon. Honestly, I don't know what makes it different from coffee without additives, but I am fascinated by this combination of frothy coffee and a rainy afternoon.
This year we have gone through the harshest drought of all times, I have not seen rain since the end of last year when we were accompanied by a few scarce Christmas rains, but all this combined with the heat wave, gave us very hot afternoons where not even that determinant factor prevented me from enjoying a good coffee in the company of a friend, my daughter, a program, or a good book.
A few days ago, the first rains arrived, announcing the opening of the winter season in this tropical zone, but there were two days where it did not stop raining, almost that the sun felt annoyed or ashamed to show itself because the days remained cloudy and very cold.You could say that I stayed that rainy weekend in my pajamas and between blankets.
But at the time of my afternoon coffee, in the midst of the soft rain that did not stop falling and that cold that rarely keeps us company in these hot lands, what provoked me was to enjoy a good cup of warm and frothy coffee with milk.
Taking advantage of some cookies that my daughter gave me in a package as striking as themselves, I prepared my delicious drink and wrapped in a coat, I sat down to watch the rain through the kitchen grill, while I enjoyed my cookies and my coffee with milk.
Honestly, the feeling of drinking a latte on a rainy afternoon is indescribable. And if you add a little cocoa powder or cup chocolate, the mixture can be magical.
Why do I always have cookies to go with my coffee? I really don't know what it is about this fusion, but for me it is the most perfect of all. I love chocolate chip cookies, just seeing their image on the packaging or the cookies themselves through clear packaging, and my mouth is already watering. I must be related to the cookie eating monster, hahaha.
But without a doubt, combining chocolate chip cookies like the ones Toddy offers us, and a good frothy latte, are the perfect company on a cold afternoon.
