Hi folks,

It has been a while since I was here.

The past few months have been like a roller coaster. I was working on my bachelor thesis and finally I finished my research! On August 21, I will have my graduation presentation and then I can finally call myself a Bachelor of Mathematics. I would like to continue doing a master's degree after this, but unfortunately I don't have the money for that right now. So I'm looking out scholarships.

I am lucky that the company (a company in the Netherlands) where I did my research for my thesis is happy with my work and has already offered me a remote job. So, at least after my presentation, I will start working already. I call myself lucky, because it's not easy to find a good job in Suriname.

These days I don't do much more than prepare for my presentation. Since I am actually quite bummed at home, I decided to brush up on my language skills.

Although I am pretty good at English, I am trying to become more proficient in English with online exercises. Of Spanish I know the basics, but I'm trying to refresh that a bit as well. And in addition, I have started Turkish lessons. That is pretty challenging, since I have never known Turkish. I notice that their grammar is very different from Dutch and English. And that is exactly why it is challenging! I like it. I wonder how much Turkish I will be able to learn after one month.

I already know how to say good morning in Turkish: Günaydin!

That's a good start, eh?

Happy weekend all of you. And see you soon!💚
