The weather managed to get the better of me again today. It started raining while I was driving the bus on my first shift this morning, and by the time I had finished and walked home, I was soaking wet. At this point, I made my mind up that I wouldn't be going out for a walk.
I was working on my computer later in the morning when the sun finally made a short appearance, but by that time, I was engrossed in what I was doing.
I then received a message from a colleague that the road by our office was shut due to a sinkhole opening up. Assuming he was exaggerating, I decided I needed to investigate, so I went for a stroll to the office.
Sure enough, I arrived just as a tow truck was pulling a car out of the hole. It wasn't really that big. The hole was only big enough for one wheel of the car to fall into, but the wheel on the opposite corner of the car was well off the ground.
Quite a crowd had gathered by this time, so a policeman decided that he had better tape off the area for safety. I presume it's just a collapsed drain that's caused the issue, but it brought a little excitement to an otherwise ordinary day.
